Role Overview: e are seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer to join our team. This role requires advanced technical expertise in WordPress and Elementor, combined with the ability to develop custom booking and ordering systems that meet complex business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain advanced WordPress websites using Elementor Pro, including custom booking systems, e-commerce solutions, bespoke functionality, and complex data structures (custom post types, taxonomies, ACF).
• Manage end-to-end website delivery and launches, covering domain and hosting setup, DNS and SSL configuration, staging-to-live migrations, and post-launch verification.
• Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability through performance optimisation, responsive and accessible design, regular backups, security updates, monitoring, and proactive issue prevention.
• Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance, diagnosing and resolving live-site issues quickly to minimise downtime and maintain service continuity.
• Lead and coordinate web projects, managing multiple timelines and deadlines, delegating tasks to designers and freelancers, and ensuring all work meets technical, UX, accessibility, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional solutions, reviewing and quality-checking deliverables before final release.
• Implement SEO best practices and analytics tracking to support discoverability, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

Technical Expertise

• Expert-level WordPress development, including theme customisation, plugin integration, core functionality, and custom feature development using PHP and MySQL.
• Advanced Elementor Pro expertise, covering theme building, dynamic content, and custom widget creation.
• Strong front-end development skills, with proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery to deliver responsive, high-performance interfaces.
• E-commerce and booking system implementation, using WooCommerce, established booking plugins, and custom-built solutions where required.
• API and third-party integrations, including REST APIs and external service connections.
• Hosting, deployment, and infrastructure management, with hands-on experience across hosting control panels, DNS configuration, SSL installation, website migrations, backups, and disaster recovery.

Design & UX

• Strong visual design expertise, with exceptional attention to detail
• Advanced understanding of UX/UI principles, including responsive and user-centred design
• Proficiency in professional design tools, such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Thorough knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG compliance

Project Management

• Proven experience managing external contractors and design teams
• Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple deadlines
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or similar)

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional web design experience
• Portfolio demonstrating complex WordPress/Elementor projects
• Knowledge of web security best practices
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Experience working under pressure to resolve critical website issues
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations during technical incidents
• Full UK driving licence and own transport
• Willing and able to commute to Tiptree regularly

Desirable Skills

• Experience with page builders beyond Elementor (Gutenberg, Bricks, Oxygen)
• Experience with Shopify Web Builds
• Knowledge of web hosting environments and DNS management
• Familiarity with SEO tools and Google Analytics
• Experience with email marketing platform integrations
• Understanding of conversion rate optimisation principles
• Basic understanding of web server configuration (Apache/Nginx)
• Experience with CDN configuration (Cloudflare, etc.)
• Knowledge of website monitoring tools (Uptime Robot, Pingdom, etc.)
• Familiarity with WordPress debugging and error log analysis
